The French and Indian War

It has been called the "War that made America"....

If anything that is an understatement... The French and Indian War set the course of our modern world, this was the war that set the history of the planet for the next 250 years from the 1750s to the present. Closer to home, it was the war that defined America in detail; what it would be, how it would be governed and by who, and the very principles that would underscore all... The French and Indian War settled America's pressing questions of geography and demography as well as to determine the fate and future of America's first inhabitants, the Indians. For what would become the United States of America, the French and Indian War removed all obstacles but those presented by its natural form and boundaries...

On the foundation of the American nation, the French and Indian War also gave us George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and a host of other leaders, thinkers, movers and shakers.... Within twenty years of its start in 1754, the French and Indian War experience spawned the core of America's Revolutionary government not to mention its military force.

If anything should be studied, to understand and come know who we are and why, it is the French and Indian War.... This war was the mother of our Modern World... this seven and one half year war begun here and fought here, in America, on the colonial stages of New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas.... along the Canadian border from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean... out to the Ohio country down the Mississippi to New Orleans and into the interior of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and costal Florida.... Here was the world's first WORLD WAR, fought as the Seven Years War across the seas to Europe and India...
